Cash-at-home row: Allahabad High Court Bar Association resumes judicial work

01/04/2025BlogNo Comments

Members of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (AHCBA) on Tuesday resumed judicial work, after suspending their agitation against the transfer of Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma to the Allahabad High Court.

On March 29, the AHCBA passed a resolution, stating that the strike was suspended till the completion of an in-house inquiry initiated against the judge by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna.

Further decisions would be made on the basis of the inquiry report, it added.

The resolution proposed to establish a Photo Identification Center to benefit the litigants and advocates, ensuring smoother judicial proceedings.

The AHCBA also decided to unanimously to hold a national-level press conference at the High Court Bar Association in Prayagraj on April 26-27, 2025, to strengthen the movement and garner support from High Court Bar Associations across the country.

The association last week unanimously decided to suspend the ongoing judicial work in protest against the transfer of Justice Varma to the Allahabad High Court.
