Delhi High Court denies bail to Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah in terror funding case

12/06/2025BlogNo Comments

The Delhi High Court on Thursday rejected a petition filed by Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah challenging the denial of bail by a Special NIA court in an alleged case of terror funding.

The order was passed by the Division Bench of Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Shalinder Kaur.

On July 7, 2023, the special NIA court refused to grant bail to Ahmed.

Senior Advocate Colin Gonsalves, appearing for Shah, had earlier submitted that it was a ‘no material case’ and added that a charge sheet has already been filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the matter.

Filed through Advocates Mugdha and Kamran Khwaja, the plea submitted that there was no mention about Shah in the main and first supplementary charge sheet filed by NIA, where it was shown that the offences had allegedly occurred as a result of the conspiracy.
