Centre notifies transfer of 17 High Court judges

The Union government on Monday approved the transfer of 17 High Court judges.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the transfer of 22 judges on May 26. Out of these, the Ministry of Law & Justice approved 17 names today.

The judges chosen for transfer included four from the Allahabad High Court; three from the Punjab and Haryana High Court; two each from Telangana High Court, Rajasthan High Court, Madras High Court and Gauhati High Court; and one each from Kerala High Court and the Karnataka High Court.

Out of four judges from the Allahabad High Court, two were transferred to the Delhi High Court, including Justice Om Prakash Shukla and Justice Vivek Chaudhary. Besides, Justice Jayant Banerji was transferred to the Karnataka High Court and Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra was chosen to serve at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

From the Punjab and Haryana High Court, out of three judges, while Justice Anil Kshetarpal was chosen to serve the Delhi High Court, Justice Sudhir Singh and Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma were transferred to their respective parent High Courts at Patna and Rajasthan.

Justice Arun Kumar Monga (parent High Court, Punjab and Haryana), currently serving at the Rajasthan High Court, was transferred to the Delhi High Court. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar (parent High Court Jharkhand), also serving at the Rajasthan High Court, was chosen to serve at the Bombay High Court.

From Telangana High Court, while Justice Sujoy Paul (parent High Court, Madhya Pradesh) was chosen to serve at the Calcutta High Court, Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar was transferred to the Madras High Court.

Justice Vivek Kumar Singh (parent High Court, Allahabad), currently serving at the Madras High Court, was chosen to serve at the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Justice Battu Devanand (parent High Court, Andhra Pradesh), also serving at the Madras High Court, was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, currently serving at the Gauhati High Court, was chosen to serve at the Calcutta High Court. Justice Suman Shyam, also serving at the Gauhati High Court, was transferred to the Bombay High Court.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh (parent High Court, Allahabad) was transferred from the Kerala High Court to the Karnataka High Court.

Justice V Kameswar Rao, currently serving at the Karnataka High Court, was chosen to serve at the Delhi High Court.
