Allahabad HC orders correction of marks in Maths for girl who got 34 in exam but experts gave her 69 marks

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Upper Secretary, Board of High School and Intermediate Examination Regional Office, Prayagraj to issue the correct mark-sheet to the petitioner within a month by awarding 69 marks in the subject of Mathematics in place of 34 marks.

A Single Bench of Justice Saral Srivastava passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Km Astha.

In compliance with the order of the Court dated 03.12.2024, RP Tiwari, Standing Counsel has produced reports of two Experts with regard to Mathematics subject of petitioner.

According to the report of one Expert, the petitioner has secured 69 marks whereas according to the report of another Expert, the petitioner has secured 66 marks.

There is apparent discrepancy in the marks awarded to the petitioner in the original marks-sheet inasmuch as petitioner was awarded 34 marks.

In view of the reports of two Experts, which have been taken on record, the Court directed the respondent no 3-Upper Secretary, Board of High School and Intermediate Examination Regional Office, Prayagraj to issue correct mark-sheet by awarding 69 marks in the subject of Mathematics in place of 34 marks within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Court allowed the petition.
