The Central government has notified the elevation of two Additional Judges of the Delhi High Court and four Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court as permanent Judges of same High Courts.
The information was shared by Union Minister of State for Law (independent charge) on Monday.
He posted on X (formerly Twitter) that in
exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, has appointed the six additional judges as permanent judges of the Delhi High Court and the Karnataka High Court.
Justice Shalinder Kaur and Justice Ravinder Dudeja have been appointed as permanent judges of the Delhi High Court.
Justice Ramachandra Dattatray Huddar, Justice Venkatesh Naik Thavaryanaik and Justice Vijaykumar Adagouda Patil have been appointed as judges of the Karnataka High Court.
Additional Judge, Justice Rajesh Rai Kallangala, has also been appointed as judge of the Karnataka High Court. He will take over the duty on February 1, 2025, on occurrence of vacancy.
On December 12, the Supreme Court Collegium led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna had recommended the elevation of these judges.
