Delhi Excise Policy case: High Court issues notice to ED on Arvind Kejriwal pleas

09/07/2025BlogNo Comments

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought response from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on two petitions filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal challenging the trial court summons issued against him in the Delhi Excise Policy case.

The single-judge Bench of Justice Ravinder Dudeja directed the national agency to state its preliminary objections in an affidavit and listed the matter for further hearing on September 10.

ED had filed complaint cases against Kejriwal after he failed to join the investigation in the liquor policy case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Following the ED’s complaint, a magistrate court issued summons to Kejriwal.

Kejriwal moved the Apex Court against the summons issued by the magistrate court, as well as the September 17, 2024 order of the Sessions court order, dismissing his challenge to the summons.

Special Counsel Zoheb Hossain, representing ED, raised a preliminary objection to the maintainability of the petition. He apprised the single-judge Bench that a plea was rejected on similar grounds earlier, adding that a second revision petition could not be entertained.
