Delhi High Court revises schedule, will work on first and third Saturdays

15/01/2026BlogNo Comments

The Delhi High Court has announced that it will function on the first and third Saturdays of every month, marking a change in its existing working schedule. The decision has been taken to improve judicial efficiency and address the growing pendency of cases before the Court.

According to the notification issued by the High Court administration, regular court work will be conducted on these Saturdays, and the arrangement will apply to both judicial and administrative functioning. The move is aimed at ensuring better utilisation of court hours and expediting the disposal of matters.

The High Court clarified that the revised working pattern will come into effect as per the notified schedule, while the second and fourth Saturdays will continue to remain non-working days, unless otherwise specified.

Legal practitioners and court staff have been advised to take note of the change, as listings and hearings will now be scheduled on the designated Saturdays. The decision is expected to ease the burden on regular weekdays and contribute to faster resolution of cases.

The development reflects the judiciary’s ongoing efforts to streamline court operations and improve access to justice in the national capital.
