Former Supreme Court judge Justice Arun Mishra appointed as BCCI Ombudsman

Former judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Arun Mishra, has been appointed as the Ombudsman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Justice Mishra will also serve as the BCCI Ethics Officer, the BCCI website confirmed.

After retiring from the Supreme Court on September 3, 2020, Justice Mishra served as Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). He retired from the post last year.

Justice Mishra enrolled as a lawyer in 1978. He became the youngest chairperson of the Bar Council of India in 1998-99. He was appointed as judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in October 1999.

He later served as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court and the Calcutta High Court before being elevated to the Supreme Court on July 7, 2014.
