Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer/repatriation of 21 High Court judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of 17 judges and repatriation of four judges to their parent High Courts across the country.

Headed by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and comprising Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice BV Nagarathna as it’s members, the Apex Court Collegium made the recommendations during its meeting held on May 26.

The Collegium recommended the transfer of Justice Sujoy Paul from Telangana High Court to the Calcutta High Court, Justice V Kameswar Rao from Karnataka High Court to the Delhi High Court, Justice Lanusungkum Jamir from Gauhati High Court to the Calcutta High Court, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak from Gauhati High Court to the Orissa High Court and Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre from Bombay High Court to the Delhi High Court.

Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra was proposed to be transferred from Allahabad High Court to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Suman Shyam from Gauhati High Court to the Bombay High Court, and Justice Vivek Chaudhary from Allahabad High Court to the Delhi High Court.

It further recommended the transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh from Kerala High Court to the Karnataka High Court, Justice Vivek Kumar Singh from Madras High Court to the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice Battu Devanand from Madras High Court to the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Justice Om Prakash Shukla from Allahabad High Court to the Delhi High Court, and Justice Shree Chandrashekhar from Rajasthan High Court to the Bombay High Court.

Justice Anil Kshetarpal was proposed to be transferred from Punjab and Haryana High Court to the Delhi High Court, Justice Arun Kumar Monga from Rajasthan High Court to the Delhi High Court, Justice Jayant Banerji from Allahabad High Court to the Karnataka High Court, and Justice Lalitha Kanneganti from Karnataka High Court to the Telangana High Court.

The Collegium recommended the repatriation of Justice Sudhir Singh from the Punjab and Haryana High Court to his parent High Court at Patna, Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma from Punjab and Haryana High Court to his parent High Court at Rajasthan, Justice C Sumalatha from Karnataka High Court to his parent High Court at Telangana, and Justice Annireddy Abhishek Reddy from Patna High Court to his parent High Court at Telangana.
