Allahabad High Court summons answer sheets of PCS-J 2022 main exam

07/12/2024BlogNo Comments

In the case of swapping of answer sheets of PCS-J 2022 main examination and reduction of marks of candidates, the Allahabad High Court has summoned the answer sheets of the main examination of the petitioners.

The Division Bench of Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh and Justice Donadi Ramesh passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Shravan Pandey.

The Court noted that,

Upon brief submissions advanced by the Senior Counsel for the petitioners and other counsel appearing for the petitioners (in connected cases) and Nisheeth Yadav, counsel for the Commission, it appears broadly there are two nature of dispute brought before the Court.

One with respect to zero or less marks awarded to answer that were correct (according to the petitioners). Another dispute has been brought with respect to original marks awarded having being unauthorizedly corrected to reduce the same.

Keeping in mind the nature of disputes noted above, at this stage itself it is clear that the original answer copies of the petitioners would be required for perusal by the Court, the Court observed.

Also, some petitioners complain that the marks awarded to them against the written examination and the interview test have not been uploaded on the website of the Commission and have not been disclosed to the petitioners, the Court further noted.

“Nisheeth Yadav, counsel for the Commission, may ensure that marks of all petitioners are uploaded on the website as may be visible to them, tomorrow.

Nisheeth Yadav, counsel for the Commission, shall produce before the Court in separate sealed covers original disputed answer books of the petitioners involved in the batch of petitions.

Pleadings are complete except in six writ petitions, where rejoinder affidavits are awaited. Let such rejoinders be filed within five days and no more,” the order reads.

The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on 12.12.2024.
