The Allahabad High Court has released 59-year-old Javed Mohammad @ Pump, allegedly inciting unrest by posting an objectionable post on social media regarding the recent violence in the Sambhal district.

The Division bench of Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan and Justice Mohd Azhar Husain Idrisi passed this order while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Shri Javed Mohammad @ Pump.

The State Counsel at the very seat submitted that the petitioner stands arrested in Case at Police Station Kareli, District Prayagraj, registered under Sections 126, 135, 117 of BNS.

It is also stated that the petitioner was directed to furnish bail bond along with two sureties to the tune of Rs 50,000/-, however, when the petitioner failed to do so, he has been sent in judicial custody.

The State Counsel further submitted that if the petitioner furnishes the requisite bail/surety bond before the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Prayagraj, the petitioner will be released on 26.11.2024 itself before 5 pm.

The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on 29.11.2024.

Javed Mohammad @ Pump, who is a former Welfare Party Of India Leader, is already facing a case pertaining to the June 2022 Prayagraj Violence incident wherein he has been accused of causing damage to public property.
