Gauhati High Court issues notice on PIL over village roads in Likabali town, Arunachal Pradesh

The Gauhati High Court’s Itanagar Bench has issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) by one Yomlar Buchi and two others. 

The petitioners are seeking relief regarding the dire state of village roads and National Highway portions within Likabali Town, Lower Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh. 

This PIL, filed under Article 226 of the Indian Constitution, shines a light on the pressing infrastructure issues plaguing Likabali.

Notices have been issued to key respondents, including the State of Arunachal Pradesh, the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Siang District, and officials from the Public Works, Rural Works, and Water Resource Departments. 

These respondents have four weeks to respond to the notices. In the meantime, respondent counsel will receive copies of the petition and supporting documents.

The matter has been listed for hearing after four weeks, marking a significant step towards addressing Likabali’s infrastructure woes.
