Kerala High Court disposes of plea against Karunakaran health centre in Thrissur

16/11/2024BlogNo Comments

The Kerala High Court has disposed of a petition filed raising concerns about the functioning of K. Karunakaran Memorial Family Health Centre in Mala, Thrissur.

The petition is filed by Shanti Joseph Thattakath.

The bench of Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice S. Manu, while questioning the petitioner’s bona fides, directed the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, to consider the representation and take necessary action if justified.

The court clarified that its direction should not be seen as an indictment of the respondents.

The Family Health Centre is run by Mala Grama Panchayat with state government aid and manpower support.

The court’s order ensures that public health concerns are addressed, and the state authorities will investigate and take urgent steps if necessary.
