Supreme Court hosts “Justice for All” run to promote mediation and environmental awareness

The Supreme Court of India on Sunday organised the “Justice for All” run, an event aimed at promoting awareness about mediation and environmental sustainability. The initiative, which also included a tree-planting drive, brought together judges, lawyers, and members of the legal fraternity in a collective call for accessible justice and ecological responsibility.

Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud flagged off the run from the Supreme Court premises. Participants included judges of the apex court, chief justices and judges from various high courts, and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). The run concluded at India Gate, after which a tree-planting ceremony was held where participants planted saplings as a symbol of renewal and commitment to environmental protection.

SCBA President Vikas Singh said the event was a reminder that justice must be timely, participatory, and sustainable. He emphasised that mediation plays a key role in reducing pendency and ensuring that dispute resolution remains people-focused rather than purely procedural.

The tree-planting segment of the event reflected the judiciary’s growing commitment to environmental stewardship. Each participant planted a tree, symbolising a shared responsibility toward a greener and more balanced future.

The initiative, organised under the leadership of SCBA office-bearers including Vikas Singh, Vice-President Rahul Kaushik, and Secretary Pragya Baghel, was described as a collaborative effort between the Bench and the Bar to promote both justice delivery and environmental consciousness.
